A local Forestville restaurant, “Mediterranean Mike’s”, was recently named Official Falafel Restaurant for the UConn Lady Huskies’ basketball team. The restaurant’s owner, Abdul Mohammed is excited about the opportunities this opens for his business.
“The Huskies are number one in the nation and deserve the number one falafel in Forestville,” he said.
He plans to produce a commercial with the Huskies’ coaches sitting around enjoying his falafels en masse.
On the other side of the tracks, a woman who goes by the name “Delilah” is upset her bid for a similar title for her mail-order sex toy business was turned down by the university.
“Obviously, the university’s an old boys’ club. They won’t let a woman-owned business sponsor them,” Delilah remarked. “And that thieving Mohammed, stole my exact idea for the commercial I would run. They shouldn’t be just enjoying his falafels, tell you that.”
University officials couldn’t be reached for comment.
